About the Opportunity

Currently, Independent Concrete Ltd. is seeking an energetic and motivated Ready Mix Concrete Driver to join our growing team in Langford, B.C., on a full-time basis.

As part of our Commercial Drivers team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering RMX Concrete throughout Greater Victoria in a timely manner. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and customer-service environment, you will also provide support in production to ensure the company remains well-known for providing quality product and excellent service.

Some of your key responsibilities within this role will include, but are not limited to:

• Stakeholder Relations – building, maintaining, and have exceptional interaction with our customers, the public, and colleagues. Promoting and maintaining a TEAM environment, and representing the ICL positively
• Deliveries – delivering RMX Concrete and participate in Quality Control, addition of value-added products, provide information and feedback to Batch Person to ensure quality product is produced and delivered
• Equipment Operation – conducting pre- and post-trip inspections and submitting inspections to Dispatch for record keeping. Writing up deficiencies and coordinating with Maintenance Shop for any repairs and maintenance required. Greasing equipment daily and assisting with light maintenance. Maintaining cleanliness inside and outside of equipment
• Health & Safety - promoting a safe working environment; ensuring the company’s health & safety policies and procedures are being followed. Ensuring Near Miss, Incident, and Accident reports are completed and forwarded in a timely manner. Participating in site inspections and safety committee/meetings as required
• Production – Assisting Plant Personnel and in concrete block form operations as required
• Housekeeping – Assisting in cleaning/maintenance activities around yard and plant

About You

To qualify, you will need a valid Class 3 Driver's License. Off-road driving experience with RMX Concrete, service trucks, or large delivery vehicles is an asset but not required. 

Our commitment to the safety of our team and customers is a top priority, therefore, a mandatory road test will be conducted for successful candidates who pass our initial screening.
