About the Opportunity

Currently, Independent Concrete Ltd. is seeking an energetic and motivated Ready Mix Concrete Driver to join our growing team in Langford, B.C., on a full-time basis.

As part of our Commercial Drivers team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering RMX Concrete throughout Greater Victoria in a timely manner. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and customer-service environment, you will also provide support in production to ensure the company remains well-known for providing quality product and excellent service.

Some of your key responsibilities within this role will include:

  • Building and maintaining stakeholder relations, as well as excellent interactions with our customers and colleagues
  • Promoting and maintaining a TEAM environment that always represents the company positively
  • Promoting a safe working environment by ensuring that the company's health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Ensuring that all Near Miss, Incident, and Accident reports are completed and sent out on time
  • Participating in site inspections and safety committee/meetings as required
  • Participating in Quality Control, addition of value-added products, and providing information and feedback to Batch Person to ensure quality product is produced and delivered
  • Conducting pre- and post-trip inspections and submitting reports to Dispatch for record keeping
  • Writing up deficiencies and coordinating with maintenance shop for any repairs and maintenance required
  • Greasing equipment daily and assisting with light maintenance; maintaining cleanliness inside and outside of equipment
  • Assisting plant personnel and in concrete block form operations as required
  • Assisting in cleaning/maintenance activities and general housekeeping tasks around yard and plant

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will need a valid Class 3 Driver's License. Off-road driving experience with RMX Concrete, service trucks, or large delivery vehicles is an asset but not required. 

Our commitment to the safety of our team and customers is a top priority, therefore, a mandatory road test will be conducted for successful candidates who passes our initial screening.
